WATKINS GLEN, Sept 8, 2. Barb Warner Deane, a Watkins Glen native, will present an author talk and book signing at the Watkins Glen Public Library on Saturday, October 7 from 1. She will be signing both of her new releases On The Homefront, a World War II era historical novel, and Killing Her Softly, a contemporary romantic suspense novel. The talk is open to the public, does not require tickets, and is a drop in event. At 1 p. m. that same day, Barb will present a historical program titled Women of World War II On the Front Lines the Home Front for the Schuyler County Historical Society at the Brick Tavern Museum, 1. Catharine Park is located on Park Road, which is off of Grant Road. This was a great opportunity for the Troop to do something good for the community, and with any luck it will spark increased interest in locals for utilizing this underrated local park, said a troop spokesperson. The Troop was happy to complete this project in a single day, and is looking forward to playing horseshoes both at the park, and at the Fire Department during the departments annual outing this September. Schuyler County Transit will offer a new Monday through Friday public transit service to Tompkins County. The service will help connect people in Schuyler County to Cayuga Medical Center and to TCAT routes that stop at Ithacas downtown transit hub and Cornell University. The new Tompkins Connections route will travel to Tompkins County and Cayuga Medical Center and provide an easy connection with TCAT Routes 2.
